you had to know it was coming

so here i am, at the end of what could very well be the longest day of my life. it seems like its been about a week since i was climbing over people to get a seat in my music 201 class this morning around 9:02 am. and now its 11:45, a little over 12 hours later, and i am so drained. physically, emotionally, mentally. now, i'm not here to whine and moan and complain about how much i miss cody (even though i do miss him, terribly). i won't subject you to that torture. i just want to say a few things.
1. i know that everyone and their left-footed dog says this, but mission prep with brother bott is quite possibly the best class you could ever take. i'm not planning on serving a mission, but the things he says are so deep and profound, i get shivers every single day. even after just four weeks of class, this class has already taught me so much and impacted me so deeply, i fully plan on just sitting in on it for at least another semester.
2. school is a really, really good distraction. it is hard to believe that i've been in classes for four weeks already. the days seem long while i'm actually in them, but looking back, time has really picked up since school has started. i just hope that the rest of the semester and next semester, and the next and the next, just blur right by. i am willing to completely submerge myself in schoolwork if thats what it takes.
3. i need a better job. don't get me wrong, i don't have a problem working at jamba. but when you only work 12 hours a week for about $7.25 an hour, that just isn't going to cut it. i need to start looking for a more solid job.
4. i have the best friends anyone could ask for. they've really proved that to me this past week. all of them. cody, caroline, ginger, marci, jaimie, kate the great, andrea, and even brady, who is serving a mission in california. really, they are the absolute best and i wish there was some way i could thank them for being there for me.
5. my family needs to move out west. i miss them. moreso than last year (not that i didn't miss them last year, because i definitely did). sometimes, i wish i could just go home for the weekend...like this coming weekend. i would love to just spend a few days at home. i don't want to wait until Christmas!
6. i'm one day closer to cody being back!

What we already knew...

is that Clay Aiken is gay. And it seems that he has finally come to terms with it as well. That's right folks, in People magazine, set to hit shelves today, Clay Aiken reveals that he is gay. Surprise. We all already knew this. He wasn't very good at hiding it, although fathering a child was a good way of throwing us off his trail for a good 2 seconds. And yes my life is fantastically boring since I am blogging about Clay Aiken being gay. Morgan, how are you handling the news? I remember you going to his concert and wearing that shirt the next day to school...

explain this to me

so, you know that phrase about how if winners never quit, and quitters never win, then who came up with quit while you're ahead? well, what about these two phrases that i've been contemplating recently.

its the calm before the storm.
things are going to get worse before they get better.

well, which one is it? does the good come before the bad? or the bad before the good? anyone?

rise and shout, the cougars are out

its that time again, folks. byu football season! i think that i kind of took it for granted last year because i only went to three of the six home games, but driving into provo a few weeks ago and seeing the stadium there with the mountains in the background just made me so glad that its football season again. and i do enjoy a good football game, but i kind of go more for the atmosphere. all of the fans are just so supercharged and excited. i don't know, its pretty awesome.

so the first game of the season was saturday against northern iowa. and after a crappy third quarter that had cody pouting on the bleachers for a couple minutes and ready to pull his hair out and us sweating our butts off as we baked in the sun, we won the game by a lot. it was fabulous. enjoy some pictures.
