Christmas Time is Not Here

Usually I don't listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but for some reason, this year I caved. Regardless of the reason I have found my top 5 favorite Christmas songs for Christmas 2008, in no particular order. Hope you all enjoy!

1. All I want for Christmas is You - Mariah Carey
All I want for Christmas is you, enough said.

2. O Come, O Come Emmanuel - Joshua James
I recently discovered Joshua James thanks to my good friend Chaela and I have loved him ever since, so it was like Christmas came early when I found he had a Christmas album.

3. Wintersong - Sarah McLachlan
Okay, kind of a sad song, but amazing. It is so peaceful, I just love it. That is all I have to say about it.

4. Frosty the Snowman - Fiona Apple
This is a fun little version of frosty that I recently found and I love it. Seriously guys.

5. That Was the Worst Christmas Ever - Sufjan Stevens
Okay, kind of a weird Christmas song, and a lot of people probably would not classify this as a Christmas song, but I do since it has Christmas in the title and it talks about presents in the song (although they are being burned in a wood stove in the song...)

Honorable Mention:
Carol of the Bells - The Bird and the Bee
Probably one of the best free downloads from itunes ever, the end

oh byu football and jamba

i love the byu football team.
especially the nice guys who actually talk to you when they come into jamba, like fui vakapuna (easily the nicest football player i've ever come in contact with) and max hall (who was asking me for advice today on what jamba he should get).

seriously, i'm in love with like every single one of them.

except for the jerks, but i can't think of one right now. if i do, i'll get back to you.

other nice guys honorable mention: david nixon, wayne latu, jj diluigi, and jan jorgensen.

1. winter - snow, christmas, my birthday, cold weather, hot chocolate, sweaters, scarves, sledding, snowmen...does it get any better? i think not.

2. 11:11 pm. - i make a wish every single night at 11:11 pm.
3. the lds version of pride and prejudice - yes, i know it's lame, and cheesy, and the acting leaves a lot to be desired, but holy cow. it is probably one of my favorite movies of all time, and i never say no to watching it. besides, its filmed in provo, so it makes it that much more interesting
4. pictures - i know this one is generic and very broad, but i LOVE pictures. taking pictures, looking at pictures, posting pictures on facebook, getting pictures from missionaries, sending pictures to missionaries, I LOVE PICTURES.
5. elder cody meredith - i know this one probably could go without saying, but psh, i don't care. i just like to remind everyone. that's all :]

MG's

For those of you who are not aware, Sarah is waiting for a missionary. To help her deal with the fact that Cody is gone for the next almost two years she has joined a facebook group for girl's waiting for missionaries. They refer to themselves as MG's meaning Missionary's Girl. So apparently they have occasional get-togethers to talk about their missionaries and how they are all coping. So they had one of these meetings on tuesday night. Sarah does not know any of these girls, so understandably, she did not want to go by herself. But all the the other girls she knows that are waiting for missionaries could not go, so she asked me to go with her, and being the AMAZING friend that I am, I went. I was kind of worried that these girls would shun me because I am not waiting for a missionary. So we pretended that I am waiting for a missionary. We used one of my guy friends who is on his mission as my missionary. I knew that because I was lying that there would be someone there that I knew. That's just how my life goes. So we get there and I don't know anyone, and I am excited about this fact. I tell the girls that my missionary has been out for almost 13 months and that he is serving in Budapest, Hungary, which would all be true if I was actually waiting for Conner. Basically I sat on the couch eating and not really talking or anything the entire night. As I am listening to the conversations around me I hear a name I am very familiar with. Terri Ann Gibbs. This is a girl who was an EFY counselor with my siblings, and i have heard her name many times, mostly from Sean Tanner. Apprently he likes to make fun of her. So I immediately text my brother, sister, and sean. And then, Terri brings up EFY. And I have to say something. So we make the connection and she starts texting my brother, telling him that I have a missionary. Great. So I have to quickly text my brother and tell him to just go with it if she tells him I am waiting for a missionary. Then I tell Sean the same thing, just in case Terri starts texting him as well. Then a girl shows up who works at the same place I do and we make that connection. So I have to lie to these girls and tell them I don't have facebook, and that that is why I am not in the waiting for a missionary group.
That was my night of adventure.
Also I got a call from the guy I am being set up with for the most recent cousins date, which will be taking place on saturday. He plays the tuba in the BYU marching band.... yeah. I will let you know how that goes.
