explain this to me

so, you know that phrase about how if winners never quit, and quitters never win, then who came up with quit while you're ahead? well, what about these two phrases that i've been contemplating recently.

its the calm before the storm.
things are going to get worse before they get better.

well, which one is it? does the good come before the bad? or the bad before the good? anyone?

i come first....then the egg

see, i think i'm funny and i'm actually not.

but, in all seriousness, i think both of those phrases mean the same thing. the calm before the storm is that it's ok now but it's going to get worse. things are going to get worse before they get better. again, more bad things are coming.

not that i agree with either of those. i just was throwing out my opinion since i do that on occasion
